Parents have been occupying Lewisham Bridge primary school for three months to stop it being demolished and sold off to be an academy. Children were facing over a year being bussed to lessons further from home in a temporary school, but today they were told that Lewisham Bridge School will open again as normal in September. They said:
“This is a fight against privatisation and the selling off of public services; it’s a fight against redundancies and the selling off of our jobs. It’s a national fight and with our victory we send a message of solidarity to the workers in the Vestas occupation. Stand up and fight – do it together and we can win!“
