Man unknown, taking his turn on the tripod, has sent us these pictures showing his view of the Vestas blade blockade this morning. The tripod has been erected at the camp outside the marine gate of the Vestas plant, Newport, Isle of Wight. Former Vestas workers and their supporters are maintaining a blockade to prevent Vestas removing blades worth £750,000, and valuable equipment.

Support is needed with the blockade: either bodily, or financially to support those who are staying at the camp. Transport advice is on the ‘get involved’ page.

Of course, you don’t have to go up the tripod if you come! There are plenty of other useful jobs. We build support on the Island through leafleting and stalls; cook and tidy up; make a fire; talk tactics; hold workshops on practical things like – building tripods, solar panels… We discuss the next steps in the campaign for green jobs, and many more issues. Come and join us.
