The Isle of Wight Island Youth Project is supporting the Vestas workers’ fight to keep their jobs at Newport and East Cowes, and supporting the rooftop protest at East Cowes. They say: “This is going to affect all of us Island youths. Losing over 500 green skilled jobs on the Island will leave a big hole when it comes to us finding work.” See the Vestas page on their website and read what they make of the campaign.

This is the kind of reason why there are not enough wind turbines – NIMBYS. Don’t wan their view spoilt (since they’ll be dead when the world is under water).
