Organise a protest THIS week!

Supporters in Bristol who can’t come to the Isle of Wight for the demonstration on Tuesday – see below – have come up with a great way to protest anyway: they will have a picket, at the same time as the Newport rally, of the local Environment Agency office. We will compile a list of suitable targets for protests that other supporters might make this week, ideally on Tuesday as well.

You do not need a great number of people to hold a protest, just a target, some placards or a homemade banner, some leaflets to let passers-by know what you are doing – and someone with a camera to take a photo that you can send in to the blog (hopefully!). Contact the local press and local politicians and let them know what you are doing. It’s the law, I suspect, to let the police know what you are doing, but they are supposed to facilitate protest, not tell you whether or not you can do it.

Please let us know what you are doing – we have added a map to the ‘Travel board’ page, where we are pinning meetings and protests around the country. Click on a pin to find out details of the event and zoom in to see where it is being held.
